STRATLENS / BUSINESS CHECK-UP01 / 03
Fictional sample · Fieldnotes Café & Kitchen
An observation. A reason to act.
This example shows how a finding becomes a practical next step. Every source and observation here is fictional.
The menu needs a readable phone version.
Observation
Small text and uneven item names make the fictional menu difficult to browse.
Evidence to inspect
Illustrative menu scan, checked at phone width. This is a made-up source, not a client document.
Why it matters
A guest has to zoom and piece together the menu before deciding what to order.
Suggested action
Confirm one current item list, group the categories and prepare a readable phone version.
Who handles it
Owner approves items and prices. A designer makes any agreed changes under a separate scope.
How to check
Open the approved version on a phone. Confirm that every item and price can be read and that the file is current.
The complete sample also checks online details and the contact route. Implementation is separate from the check-up.

Fictional sample · three illustrative competitors
A comparison. A useful question.
Check what a guest can find, then decide what deserves attention. These examples do not estimate anyone’s sales.
Sample outlet A / Menu accessIllustrative evidence: a readable menu opens directly from its profile.Action to consider: test our own menu link on a phone.
Sample outlet B / Contact routeIllustrative evidence: a message link is visible, but the menu link is difficult to find.Action to consider: check both routes, not just whether a link exists.
Sample outlet C / InformationIllustrative evidence: hours are consistent, but some menu prices are missing.Action to consider: get the owner’s approved details before arranging updates.
A real check-up records the source and observation date for three nearby competitors. Public information cannot establish revenue or profitability.

Fictional sample · five practical priorities
A next step. A way to check it.
Confirm the essentials.
Responsible: Owner. Done when: One approved list contains the current name, hours, contact number, items and prices.
Make the menu readable.
Responsible: Owner + designer, if separately engaged. Done when: The owner approves the menu and can read each item and price on a phone.
Test the menu link and QR.
Responsible: Owner or the person maintaining the menu. Done when: Both open the same current, approved menu on a phone.
Check the contact route.
Responsible: Owner + account holder. Done when: The call or message link reaches the intended number; the owner confirms it.
Keep a simple enquiry record.
Responsible: Owner. Done when: Genuine enquiries and how guests found the outlet are recorded. Compare enquiry quality before deciding on further work.
The check-up supplies observations and a plan. Implementation is a separate scope. No sales, enquiry or ranking outcome is promised.
A creative menu concept
Menus worth a second look.
A café menu and a restaurant menu have different rhythms. These fictional concepts give each its own style, with clear categories, descriptions and prices.
Compare the layouts, then explore the café and restaurant concepts or open the two-page demo. All examples are fictional.
Same menu. A clearer read.
Fictional example. The four items and illustrative prices stay the same.

A personal approach
One person. A considered approach.
I run StratLens, an independent practice based in Pune for small cafés and restaurants. You speak with me, and I organise the research, design and handover for your project.
I start by understanding what needs attention. I use research, design tools and AI assistance to prepare the work, then check it against your approved business information. You see the scope before paying and review the agreed work before launch or handover. Specialist financial, kitchen and compliance work needs a qualified professional.
✓ A written scope before you commit
✓ Your approval before work goes live
✓ Your accounts, files and business information stay yours
From first conversation to handover.
01.
Understand your outlet.
Tell me what’s missing or taking too much time. I look at the need before recommending a package.
02.
Agree, then create.
You receive a written scope and full cost breakdown. Projects begin with 50% upfront, followed by a preview and the agreed revisions.
03.
Review and hand over.
Approve the work, settle the balance, then launch or receive your files. Add monthly support only when it is useful to you.
A few fair questions.
Do I need to buy a monthly package?+
No. One-time projects stand on their own. Monthly care is optional and covers only the listed recurring work.
Will this guarantee more customers?+
No. I commit to the agreed deliverables. Sales, enquiries and rankings depend on many factors. Where tracking is available, I review activity and owner-confirmed enquiries rather than treating clicks as sales.
What do I need to provide?+
Your current menu and prices, accurate contact details, opening hours, photos you have permission to use and authorised account access. I agree the required materials before starting.
How long does a website take?+
A typical target is 7–10 working days after the advance, approved content and required access arrive. Your written proposal confirms timing. Content delays and platform verification can extend the schedule.
Can I start with a smaller project?+
Yes. Google Profile Cleanup starts at ₹1,999. Choose a useful first improvement and add other work later. I remove overlapping work when combining services.
Let’s find your starting point
Tell me about your place.
A café, a family restaurant, a new idea. Start with what you need help with — I’ll work from there.
After you get in touch
A conversation about your outlet.I use the contact details you provide to understand what you need.
A written scope and quote.I confirm what is included, the materials needed, the schedule and any external costs.
You decide whether to proceed.Sending an enquiry does not book a service or commit you to a payment. Projects begin after the agreed advance and required materials.
